A steaming good time

July 28, 2016

Members of the London Taxi Benevolent Association turned their meters off to drive more than 150 Second World War veterans from London to Sussex to enjoy a day out on the famous Bluebell railway.

It was a chance for these veterans of Arnhem, D Day and the Atlantic and Arctic convoys to reminisce about their Service days and to catch up with old friends.

The London Taxi Benevolent association, who work for the benefit, comfort and enjoyment of the war disabled and veterans, organized the trip as a way of saying thank you to the veterans who raise money on their behalf.

Events like this are held several times a year and are a fantastic respite from city life.
