More heat and light for hall

July 13, 2016

Digby War Memorial Hall in Lincolnshire has long been at the heart of many local activities in the little village of Digby.

But after 50 years of use, the community hall was beginning to look its age.

And while the willing volunteers were used to working hard year in and year out raising funds, the amount needed for the necessary repairs was more than they could manage single handedly.

So the committee bid for, and successfully secured, £20,000 from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund. This helped to pay for an insulated roof, double glazing, a new heating system and rewiring of the building.

The village is home to many current and former armed forces servicemen and women, and is closely associated with the nearby JSSO (RAF) Digby, a former WW2 fighter base and now headquarters for the Joint Service Signal Unit.
