Information a site better for people in Devon

August 18, 2016

Devon County Council has revolutionised the way in which veterans and serving Armed Forces personnel and their families can find information on a range of topics, from health and housing, to education and leisure.

The Devon Forces Family website was launched to give the local Armed Forces community a ‘one stop shop’ for all social services. There is also a dedicated phone line where anyone who has issues with the website can call and get the same information.

The site is available for anyone living in the Devon, Plymouth and Torbay area. It has been created in response to a report published by Devon Armed Forces Community Wellbeing Partnership that states that 15% of veterans living in Devon have a complex mix of physical and mental health needs. The accessibility of the site means that everyone should be able to easily find the help that they need.

The website has been funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund.
